ABOUT SWAM

South Wales Aviation Museum was set up to preserve the rich Aviation History in South Wales to inspire the next generation of aviators and engineers. The museum was a vision of Gary Spoors and John Sparks and was created through the dedication of our amazing volunteers.

SWAM is a not for profit organisation and registered charity completely self funded. 100% of the proceeds go to the upkeep and running of the museum and gift shop.

We encourage our visitors to interact with the aircraft and exhibits which enables them to have a fully immersive experience. We have a selection of cockpits open for you to be able to take a closer look at.

We have a vast array of aircraft on display as well as exhibition rooms, gift shop and an onsite cafe.

SWAM also has a conference room and bar which is available for hire

SWAM also hold regular organised visits from schools, cub groups, beavers groups and clubs. If you would like to organise a group visit then drop us an email to [email protected] or give us a call on 01446 789787.

VOLUNTEERING AT SWAM

At the South Wales Aviation Museum, we are committed to sharing our expertise and resources to encourage the next generation into aviation and engineering.  We have a wide age range of volunteers from retired individuals who are an invaluable fountain of knowledge to older teenagers (16 plus) who are interested in aviation.

Our amazing team are passionate  about  making a difference in their local community.

Without our fantastic team of volunteers we wouldn’t be able to open the museum.
