Facilities

Parking - Ample free parking available to the front of the museum.

Toilets - Men’s and Women’s toilets are located on the ground floor. We are currently trying to install an accessible toilet (see below).

Refreshments - We have an onsite café on the 1st floor serving hot/cold drinks and hot/cold food.

Accessibility - The museum is wheelchair accessible, although there is currently no lift to access the café or an accessible toilet on-site. However, we are thrilled to announce that we have secured funding from the Shared Prosperity Fund. This support will enable us to begin construction (April 2024) of a platform lift, ensuring access to the café for all visitors. Additionally, improvements will also include installation of a disabled toilet with the aim of ensuring our museum is accessible to all. Their is an additional seating area downstairs, and our café staff are more than happy to assist by bringing food and drinks to visitors.

During the winter months, we advise visitors to wrap up warm for their comfort.

Dog Friendly

At the South Wales Aviation Museum, we understand that your four-legged companions are an essential part of your family outings. Therefore, we warmly welcome your dogs to join you during your visit to the museum. To ensure a pleasant experience for all visitors, we have established a dog-friendly policy:

Admittance - Dogs are permitted within the museum premises but not within the indoor café area. We do provide a seating area on the ground level and our café staff are more than happy to bring your refreshments directly to you.

Outdoor Facilities - Freshwater bowls are conveniently placed outside the entrance to provide hydration for your furry friends. You are welcome to utilise these amenities during your visit.

Exploration - Your dog is invited to accompany you while you explore the museum exhibits. To maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all, please ensure that your dog remains on a lead and well-behaved at all times.

Staff Interaction - Our enthusiastic staff members adore dogs and may not resist the urge to give them some extra attention! Be prepared for some fuss and affection from our team.

We believe that including your canine companions enhances the joy of your museum visit. By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to create a harmonious and enjoyable experience for all visitors, both human and canine.

Thank you for your cooperation in making the South Wales Aviation Museum a welcoming place for everyone.
